Commitment increases per step
Each completed step raises the psychological cost of abandoning. Someone who reaches step 3 is far more likely to convert than someone staring at a 10-field form who hasn't started.
Guide · Framer
A contact form collects an email. A lead qualification form tells you who's worth your time before you reply. Here's how to build one in Framer without writing code.
Contact form vs lead form
What to ask — and in what order
Name and email first. Low friction, builds momentum. If someone won't give you their name, they won't become a client.
A select field with your service types — website, branding, development, other. Lets you filter instantly and tailor your reply.
This is where most contact forms stop. A select for budget range (under $2k, $2k–$5k, $5k+) tells you more than any message field. Unqualified leads rarely complete this step — which is exactly the point.
A textarea on the last step for context. By this point, whoever fills it out is genuinely interested.
Why multi-step works better for lead gen
Each completed step raises the psychological cost of abandoning. Someone who reaches step 3 is far more likely to convert than someone staring at a 10-field form who hasn't started.
Put the qualifying questions after you've already captured email. Even if they abandon, you have contact info. If they complete it, you have a qualified lead.
Structured fields — selects for project type, budget, timeline — give you clean, comparable data. Free-text message fields give you "Hi I need a website."
Building it with Quiet Form
Step 1: name + email. Step 2: project type (select) + budget (select). Step 3: timeline (select) + project description (textarea).
A persistent "Work with me" button in the bottom-right corner opens the form as a sheet from any page. No need for a dedicated contact page.
Connect to Formspree, Web3Forms or your own endpoint. All field values arrive as structured JSON — easy to parse, filter and forward to your CRM.
