Frontend rebuild for a content-heavy media brand inside a backend-oriented team. Mobile-first, framework-free, consistent across thousands of templates.

What I worked on

Site structure, navigation, article pages and the TV programme interface — rebuilt mobile-first from the ground up. The challenge was shipping a consistent frontend inside a team focused on backend architecture, with no shared frontend framework to lean on.

Technical approach

Frontend built without JavaScript or CSS frameworks — BEM and atomic CSS on a PHP/Phalcon stack, compiled with Webpack. Every component hand-written, every interaction native. Same approach as Le Monde: explicitness over abstraction.
